Manga+Game Translator/Editor (English)

Our company provides “MediBang Paint,” an illustration/manga creation tool which has been downloaded over 60,000,000 times worldwide. We also operate “ART street,” a website where artists can post their illustrations/manga and get the exposure they deserve.

With the goal of creating a service that people around the world can enjoy, we are currently developing our Global Distribution Division, which aims to translate, as well as distribute Japanese manga and games to the global market.

Want to be more involved in the world of Japanese manga and games? If you’re enthusiastic about getting more experience in the world of manga and games, then now is your chance!

Manga+Game Translators will be responsible for the following:
-Producing translations from Japanese to English in accordance with the style guide.
-Keeping up with deadlines and communicating with staff regarding details about each project.
-Reporting any missing pages/texts.
-Keeping a glossary of terms.
Manga+Game Editors will be responsible for the following:
-Fixing spelling/grammar/punctuation mistakes.
-Fixing incorrect translations.
-Fixing unnatural-sounding translations in accordance with the style guide.
-Providing translations for missing text.
-Reporting any missing pages.
-Documenting changes for feedback.

Game Editors will also be responsible for the following:
-Checking to make sure code is arranged correctly in accordance with the source material.

Payment rates will differ depending on the type of project. Manga and webtoon translators are paid per page, while game translators are paid per word.

𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
-Must be 18 years or older.
-JLPT N2 level (equivalent, or higher. No certification needed)
-Native or native-level English.
-Strong command of the English language—must be confident in your creative writing skills.

𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲:
-Previous experience with writing or editing (published or personal).
-Knowledge of and/or experience working with Japanese pop culture/manga/games.
-Photoshop experience
-Familiarity with any coding language or a willingness to learn.
